As the Maggie B makes her journey around the world, her crew will change from time to time. This is where you'll find information about all of our crew members — with links to any blogging they might (or might not!) be doing...

Frederic Kellogg

Known as Freddy, Fredrock and Fearless Fred, began his career at sea under the tutelage of uncles Dan and George Blagden. At the age of 19 he commanded a somewhat rotten 50 foot schooner, Calypso (aka Collapso) acquired for $75 at Essex Boat Works which lasted all the way to Maine. Many boats later he is down to Nellie Jane, 24 feet. Fred is an artist represented by Caldbeck Gallery, Rockland Maine, and his work can be seen at www.caldbeck.com and www.frederickellogg.com . In an earlier life, Fredrock served as an advisor to Attorney General Elliot Richardson and resigned with Richardson in the “Saturday Night Massacre.” Now a recovering lawyer, he was President of the Ripon Society, in which capacity he received a personal letter from Fidel Castro, flogging the latter’s latest book.
